Guide Book Vehicle Valuation & Data Scrubbing Feature Survey Update

Following the 2011 Megasys User Group Conference, we sent Megasys customers a Guide Book Vehicle Valuation survey. The purpose of this survey was to determine if there was enough customer interest to release this feature in the current FA system and upcoming release of our browser-based Omega system.

The results from this survey indicated a strong interest from our customers who use or would use services from Kelly Blue Book (KBB), National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), and Manheim Market Report (MMR). Megasys is in the process of reviewing this information in more detail to determine which services may be implemented.

We recognize that our customers play a crucial role in the improvement of our products and services, and we reciprocate by increasing efficiency in your daily operations.

Remote Backup Option - Updated!

After the nightly backup on your primary in-house server is complete, this feature stores your data on a secure remote backup server, providing a secondary level of data protection. New arrangements for Remote Backup Storage make this option more affordable. Megasys will recommend a storage plan based on how much space you need.

For example, if your system data is 2GB, we would reserve 20GB of disk space and keep a 7-day rotation of nightly backups (14GB of data, plus a 6GB "cushion"). When a new rotation begins, the most recent backup will replace the oldest.

In the event that your disk space usage begins to exceed your allocated storage space (i.e., when it begins to use the cushion), Megasys will contact you to discuss the process of upgrading your storage plan to the next tier.

Remote Backup storage is not a complete disaster recovery plan. However, in the event of a disaster that requires Megasys to restore your data, we can move your data to our off-site server and our normal disaster recovery services will apply.

Employee Spotlight - Sandy Tsukamoto

Megasys Employment Background:

Sandy began her employment with Megasys in 1987. She started as a Technical Software Support representative and quickly gained valuable knowledge of the Megasys System. After several years of hard work and dedication, she was promoted to Director of Software Support. In 1999, her extensive knowledge of the Megasys System and advanced skills in technical documentation and software testing led to her promotion and current position as Quality Assurance Manager. Sandy comments, "Quality Assurance is a very stimulating job, since it is always interesting to learn what types of tools our clients need to manage their businesses."

Sandy has been at Megasys through each evolutionary stage and recalls what it was like when she first started working for Megasys. "We were supporting a myriad of different software packages, primarily on local, in-house systems. Back then, we were using large magnetic tapes and floppy disks and didn't even have a fax machine!" She adds, "I have seen the Megasys System upgraded to UNIX, then Linux. Throughout that time, the FA software, along with our other satellite software systems has made the System infinitely more robust and flexible."

Sandy is looking forward to the upcoming release of Omega and seeing how the new browser-based technology will help the Megasys software evolve in the years to come.

Educational Background:

Sandy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University.

Hobbies & Personal Interests:

Sandy enjoys playing and watching different sports (basketball, softball, football, and golf). She also likes cooking and jewelry making.

Birth Announcements:

We would like to announce that Theo Austin, President and COO of Megasys, and his wife Yanci welcomed a baby boy, "Theodore R. Austin IV" on September 11th. Baby Teddy weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 3/4". Mother and baby are doing well.

Upcoming Births:

John Fuhrer, Chief Software Architect, is expecting his second child, a baby boy, who is expected to arrive in March, 2012.

Diana Moreau, Sale & Marketing Coordinator, is expecting her second child, a boy due in late October, 2011.
